The quality of their middle school education is light years ahead of our current expectation for an 8th grade survivor. We turn out high school graduates that are forcing colleges to gin up an extra year of remedial classes to get these idiots to a level able to learn in an entry level class. I am fairly sure I could take some sod homed farmboy from 1895, toss him into a remedial year at college and have him surpass the bulk of his fellow student in 2016.
