My dad has a KitchenAid that was purchased new by my grandmother in early to mid 80's. It is a roll around one that you hook up to the kitchen sink faucet and drains there as well. It is really old school with the big chrome push buttons and such. It still works great.

Welp, I got a KitchenAid KUDJ23, as I say about 20 years old, and I use SUN
brand dishwasher powder from the dollar store. Today's load included a
large chickenfat-laden broiler, a toaster oven chickenfat-laden broiler, a
full complement of dinner dishes, a chili-laden bowl with the chili dried
on... you get the idea. I load up the dishwasher, but I seldom run it
until it's full (roughly once a week).

The Kitchen-aid cleaned everything until it was sparkling.

Get one of these, if you can.
