What year is the 240D? How much air in the tires? They should be similar.The
late 240Ds, maybe just in '83 had alloy wheels with hubcaps. They are
dramatically lighter than the earlier steelies...

I don't know why, but my 300D with Bundts rides a lot smoother on rough roads
than my 240D with steel wheels. Less unsprung weight on the Bundts?
