I pulled the crank vent hose off and ran it for a while in the shop clearing it out and repeated the test. I did not get very much oil if any at all that time. I tested holding a paper over the vent hose and did not really get any oil out of there either. I hooked the hose back up and did not get any oil again so maybe it takes a while.
If this is the case I should swap valve covers.
