I saw a comment from someone that said if the blue areas prevailed it
would be sorta like a "Hunger Games" kind of situation where the elite
metro areas basically controlled the rest of the country, the residents
of whom would basically have no say in the matter if not for the
electoral college arrangement.

For example, *L.A. County

alone has a population of over *10 million*. That’s more than the
combined population of 10 entire states. *Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode
Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, Vermont,*
and *Wyoming* together have a total population of just over *9 million*?
Which says that LA County could basically be the key to a Clinton "win"
since the margin is like 1.5M votes at this point, and I think her
margin was larger than that in LA County? And LA County would basically
negate the votes of 10 states that comprise a very large geographic area
though low-density.
