As far as the $15 monovalve, mine worked great up to about 1700 rpm. Above 1700rpm the valve was forced closed by the pressure from the water pump.
Piece of crap and If you want heat all the time you best have the dealer part. Even if you have to call Dan's dealer and order a couple.
