The star ones suck, thats whats wrong with them. IIRC there was something about 
the star that obscured your ability to reef down on the mounting bolt. Maybe it 
was the York AC compressor, I don't remember now.
On the '83 the "wrong" thing was me not realizing you had to loosen the 
mounting bolt before tensioning so I bent the tensioner, it never worked as 
well after that...

S0mething was wrong.  I don't think I have touched the alternator or 
belt on the 240D since I put a new alt on, maybe 15 years ago.  I 
suppose it may be time for a new belt, just "becuz"
