good point. have my block heater on a heavy duty timer...could do the same for
my battery charger if it ever got to Wisconsin proportion coldness here (where
I got forstbit at -27 degrees...about -50/-60 with windchill)

battery charger on the battery. If choosing between the two, a warm battery
is more valuable than a warm block. The glow plugs will take the same hit
from the battery regardless and extreme cold saps most of your battery's
energy.

I started my 190D Euro yesterday morning. If I was lucky it was only
10-12 below by that time. I haven't installed the block heater yet.
In fact I don't have one in stock either. That's how nice I am to my
engines. I dare them not to start and run.

Considered it for about two years and that is how I met my wife! She was
teaching at the parish school attached to the priory I was staying at in
preparation for attending the seminary. Decided not to go and we got married a
year or so later. Bliss, ahem, ever since! Actually, she turned 33 yesterday.
She is a wonderful wife and mother and hot to boot. AND she is happy she sold
her 98 Sienna and bought an 87 300TD! What a sweetie!
