For some reason the 124 300TD "beckons" me to play this game. It starts with
quite a clatter and some smoke - but all evens out in about 20 seconds...but
plugging it in has not been a necessity this winter to get it to start on the
first crank. Wonder how low it can go....

The SD - I pamper it. It's my "forever" car.

I started my 190D Euro yesterday morning. If I was lucky it was only
10-12 below by that time. I haven't installed the block heater yet.
In fact I don't have one in stock either. That's how nice I am to my
engines. I dare them not to start and run.

Don't worry Luther, you'll find a pretty German Benz chick some day too.

The new issue of C&D (april) has an article about Audi's upcoming entry at
Le Mans. They'r won the event a lot recently and have chosen a V12 90
degree Diesel to defend its title. The fuel will be basically pump fuel BTW
with the engine producing approx 650hp & 800 # ft of torque! The article
tells of Audi;s reasoning for using a diesel - one of which is to help
Americans realize diesels are not slow, noisy, smokey engines.

It's shaping up to be another great race!
Let's hope SpeedTV will be televising much of the race as they have in the
past.

Sincerely,
Larry T ('74 911, '67 MGB, 91 300D Turbo)
