Could you provide the supplier info for this system? I'm interested and already 
have a compatible ThinkPad. I see a bewildering array of suppliers from places 
that concern me about software integrity.

You could probably scrounge a computer given the resources you have in the 
neighborhood. I paid $300 for the multiplexer, cables and the software on an 
external USB drive. While I understand your position, I can assure you that in 
the time I've had my DAS system it's more than paid for itself in time saved 
and ability to fix things, such as your current W220 situation.

Realize, too, that it works on cars as old as 2nd Gen W126 chassis and others 
as well.
