Unlike the pre-computerized cars, the 2000 MY and later MBs nearly all require
the ability to access systems using the Xentry or DAS software and MUX. Sure,
you can fix some things, but get much past 2003 or so and without it you're
pretty much left swinging in the wind.

As for buying a car that's much cheaper than others in the same range, run
away. It's most likely priced like that for a reason.

Finding nice cars isn't like looking under rocks - it takes time, research, and
a willingness to go head to head with a seller while being fair and willing to
walk away. Like the W210 wagon I just bought - I knew it had been for sale for
a month at the asking price, I knew what it was worth, I made an offer and told
the seller I wouldn't budge.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. And it's a used car, so no matter
how hard you try to avoid any surprises, you'll still be likely to get them on
occasion.

Always buy the best example you can afford. It's cheaper in the long run.
