I have a '76 300D in Caledonia Green and live in Oakland CA. I did an EMERGENCY u-turn when I saw this very car several months ago. Chatted with the owner/guardian briefly. He seemed to be a knowledgeable enthusiast and the car looked quite fantastic. I guess he moved north, which explains why I haven't seen it around since then. Not sure he will get that kind of money for it, esp since it is a 240D vs 300D. Still, it was a nice car!
