I had the lower radiator hose clamp break while in the fast lane in heavy 
traffic at 75mph. My first hint something was wrong was when the car smelled 
hot. I looked and the gauge was pegged.I got us off the highway quick but the 
damage was done...That was a 240D, apparently Dimitri's buddy still drives it 
with the thermostat forced open...

The blown rad or hose would be obvious so very little excuse for further
