From what I saw when I was at Kohler where the average length of service was 28 years, if people didn’t have a plan for what they were going to do once they retired they didn’t seem to last very long after they did. These were people who were retiring with like 40, 50 and even 60 years of service in the same company. In most cases they had lots of family and friends in the area, which certainly helps.
When it gets closer I’m sure I’ll have some volunteer work set up on a regular basis.
