Shot placement is a function of Grip, and Trigger finger position.

I'll take bets the revolver you use fits your grip better, and the semi
auto, you have not focused on "proper grip"..

Practice dry fire [make the pistol safe before dry fire.. no ammo near by].
Put a sticky note on the wall with a circle on it [draw around a penny]
make an X in the circle. Stand with your preferred stance and grip with the
muzzle 6 inches from the "target ". get the proper site picture and focus
on the "X", pull trigger through release point and watch muzzle travel..
ie. up, down, left , right... refresh and practice.. no ammo, just dry
fire.  Find how to take up trigger slack to the release point without
pulling off target, then "Squeeeeeeeze" through the release, while holding
target picture...

Do this several times a day for a week, then try live fire at the range...
