my preference is for the light alloy hubcap wheels. The weight
advantage of alloys without the tedious cleaning required by bundts or
15 hole or 8 hole alloys.

Your (then mine, then Dimitri's) '78 240D ended up with the alloy
wheels from Hammie the '83 240D. I was amazed how much lighter they
were than steelies...
