It's been so long that I don't remember the last time I had to defrag a drive. The last three finger salute was on Ubuntu that locked up. None of the HP laptops have failed due to a dead battery - they run fine on AC when the battery is removed, which is how I run the ancient one in the hangar (remember Vista? - still going).
