Addison,
I used the free version of Malwarebytes for years and was very satisfied. Then
I decided to try the paid-for version. After a year I couldn't see any
difference between the paid and free version, so I decided to let the paid
version expire, and then go back to Malwarebytes Free. I don't remember the
exact details anymore since that was several years ago, but at some point I saw
a charge on my credit card bill from a company I was unfamiliar with which
turned out to be Malwarebytes. Trying to communicate with them, both by phone
and by email, was unsuccessful, so I tried to stop payment via the bank which
processed the credit card. The next credit card bill showed no credit from
Malwarebytes. The bank claimed it was an error and they would correct it. No
further credit card bill showed a credit either, so I just chalked it up to
experience.
I might yet "buy" Malwarebytes at Walmarts in the future since it is a very
good program. I think it was between $20 and $30.
