I've never hit one with an airplane, though I've talked to people who have. (One guy hit a seagull during a night flight. I didn't even know gulls *flew* at night.) I hit some kind of bird with the radio antenna of a Ford Club Wagon once. Based on the way it flew, I believe it was a swallow. It hit the antenna hard enough to put a slight kink in it. I was going about 65 mph at the time.
