“Near perfect" is a stretch, but it is very solid and has great provenance, so
whoever ends up with it if it’s sold will get a car that they know exactly what
it needs and what’s been done.

I could pick nits and find a bunch of things that could still be done on it,
but there comes a point where I either have to decide to keep it or unload it
at a reasonable price with a fair profit.

I’m really starting to freak out over the prices on decent driver quality
Finnies and W108s with the fear that I may never be able to afford a decent
one. My expectations aren’t such that I think I’m going to get a decent car
for Okie Acres money, but prices just seem to be getting stupid. There’s a
pretty nice W108 not far from me right now, but they want stupid money for it
and just jacked the price another thousand because they put new engine subframe
mounts on it:

$12,000? That’s just nuts. Maybe $8k-$9k if it’s really clean and has no
rust, but $12k?

If that’s the market it’s going to be a while before I can participate, if
ever. Too bad Alex won’t part with any of his cars, eh?
