I was camping,  a Coleman Lantern friend who also owns the Whately Engine 
Museum, had a gathering. We camped and lit lanterns and watched old engines 
run. He calls his big engines "Medium sized" but I consider them HUGE. 4' 
flywheels aren't uncommon...
I've got video of him starting a "semi-diesel" which is really a hot bulb 
diesel. To start it you put a big torch on what looks a like a trailer hitch 
ball. The "injector" drips fuel onto the shaft the ball is part of inside the 
cylinder and "vaporizes" which is maybe a generous term, the fuel. That one 
blows smoke rings when its running...
I'll post some pictures and video once I get them ready.
