Almost surely one or more glow plugs are bad. Measure the glow plug =

resistance at the BIG plug that goes to the relay. Should be 0.6 ohms =

cold and no more than twice that hot.

If the engine temp sensor (B11/8 I think) goes bad, there may be no =

afterglow, but the dash lamp would glow normally.

I've attached the trouble shooting guide from the engine manual (will be =

stripped from the list copy).
