If your car has been driven in salt at all, I would seriously consider
replacing the fuel and brake lines. On my SDL, the subframe was down in
Nov 2004. We did not replace the lines, though i thought about it
seriously. I did look the lines over closely, and thought they looked ok,
so even though my better judgement said to leave the car down for a week or
so to get the lines in, we did not do it.
In mid December, 2004, the fuel lines started leaking, up over the axle,
where they are impossible to replace without pulling the subframe. Fuel
and brake lines look ok, but leak under the clamps, where you can't see the
rust.
I paid $200 to have an independent shop in Memphis put in a section of hose
to plug the leaks until I could get it fixed right.
Tchüß!
