are these for USA lights or yuro lights?   I thought you bought the whole yuro unit, but your description sounds like you got just the lens for the USA headlight.

If USA, you should buy the lens and reflector together, or buy the whole yuro headlight units.

OK what's the consensus on buying new headlight housings vs. just the
lenses and using used housings/reflectors?

A few days ago a package shows up with new Hella lenses from Belarus or
something like that (not sure - I tried the Latvian guys but never got the
money wired, so I reordered from another former Russian republic). So I go
out today to finally replace my old lenses only to discover the tabs
holding the lens in place are half gone, 2/4 broken off. Drat!

Then I take a look at the reflectors and they are pretty shiny on the
inside but the little bucket around the bulb is coated in white fluff that
is probably full of mercury or asbestos or some other toxic stuff on both
the inside and the outside of the bucket, and the reflector itself seems to
have lost its shine on the back side (front side seems OK but is very dusty
with the same white fluff). And I don't want to mess up the reflective
surface trying to remove the white fluffy dust stuff, though I would do it
with some reading I suppose.

So it has me thinking I should have ordered the entire lights, as I would
have new housing tabs and reflectors as well as new lenses and turn signals!

What is the collective wisdom on this? Clean the old ones and use aircraft
wire to hold the lenses on, buy used housings on eBay and risk tab failure,
or buy new from bananazon or eBay?

My bulbs are also bad so I may pick up a set of cheapo LEDs and see how
they look. The OSRAMs have a little separate filament with a shade so it
only shines upward; this is inside the bulb. I am suspicious that the LED
guys have not fully sorted their bulbs to the same degree, but I will check.
