I bought a 12 gal (or so) Shop Vac brand 10-15 years ago that worked OK until the motor died three years ago. I bought a new with the removable motor that converts into a blower (handy for cleaning the hangar floor) and converted the canister part of the old vac into a pre-chamber for the new vac. Now I have twice the capacity at the cost of two canisters and hoses to move around. It really helps when being used as the dust/chip collector for the planer or jointer.
