Well Geico calls it a total loss. Very few aftermarket parts that met their standards were available (headlamp, bumper impact strip) so the rest (bumper, fender) were MB-only and they really drove up the estimate. Geico valued the car at about $3500 which I think is fair, I'm waiting for them to tell me the buy-back price. Adjuster was a little flabergasted at the cost of a fender and a bumper, far higher than modern cars.
I think I'll end up with about $3k or maybe a little more, then repair on my own dime. ------------- Max Charleston SC On Thu, May 23, 2019 at 8:37 AM Meade Dillon <dillonm...@gmail.com> wrote: > Thanks Mitch, that will be my route if they decide to total the car and I > buy it back. > ------------- > Max > Charleston SC > > > On Thu, May 23, 2019 at 7:33 AM Mitch Haley via Mercedes < > mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: > >> I just checked car-part.com. >> LH fenders (it is left, not shark gill?) run $60-100 in Michigan in A-0 >> condition. >> Grade A, 0 units of repair needed.
