OE hose sets are co$tly but a hose shop can put new hoses on your old metal fittings for much less. When my 82 300SD did something similar (sudden leak) the fault was one of those rubber flex hoses at the metal fitting. I understand the manifold that bolts to the compressor is a problem area, especially for Diesels. There are special seals (essentially a metal washer with rubber O-ring bonded to inside diameter) for this location but I think it requires a certain compressor version .
