I rented a Nissan Juke with CVT some time ago. That car quite literally has a
snowmobile clutch and belt system. Starting and stopping is accomplished by the
primary clutch which is attached to the engine. "Shifting" is the secondary
clutch sliding to effectively change its diameter.
Chattering suggests to me the primary clutch needs service...

something common with the CVT trannies, some think it was a damaged
transmission.  Nissan seems to say it is "normal" whatever that means,
and did some reprogramming of the idle speed or something in some
cases.  I kinda think it might be some aspect of the torque converter
locking or unlocking, if indeed it has that arrangement, or something as
to how the CVT responds to low speed or stopped.  I don't think it is a
big concern, at least I hope not, but she was going to take it to a shop
for a general inspection and oil change as it is now due, might be time
to change tranny fluid too.  I told her I/we could change belts and
hoses soon to give her some peace of mind, not a huge effort and cheap
insurance.

Was in Jacksonville FL so southern car, body nice and clean.
Surprisingly good shape for 11yo.  Sounds fairly solid, more so than the
smaller cars.
