Chevy, Ford and Chrysler have been making adequate, if not exciting, cars for
over a decade now. If your goal was to have a toaster to take you from place to
place I'd say one of the big three is the way to go.
While they're expensive if you check on a comparably equipped Toyota I think
you'll find them similar if not cheaper.
Last week I had a bright red Kia Soul rental. Other than the very buzzy four
banger its adequate transportation. I generally like Kias because they're
brightly colored. Often I forget what my rental car is and lose it in a parking
lot. A bright color helps.

I just had a 2019 Chevy Impala Premier Addition rental car for several
days. It was essentially new with 4200 miles on it. I found it to be a
nice vehicle and very easy to drive. Lots of bells and whistles so who
knows how it would stand the test of time, but as a new vehicle, really
pretty decent. Silver with black leather interior. I think I would like
one if they were not so expensive and about to disappear from production.
