Listers,
I am considering the purchase of a diesel truck and would appreciate any and
all recommendations/critiques/experiences on the Dodge, Ford, and Chevy/GMC
versions. I am looking for one that is coming off lease or roughly 3-4 years
old. I've heard good and bad on all three, but would appreciate further input.
 Thanks in advance.

The old 7.3 in my Ford is very stout. Pulls my 13,000 lb 5th wheel
much faster than is prudent.
Problems:
1) Serp Belt & both Idlers have left me on the side of the road.
2) One alternator at 150KMI
3) Turbo pedestal bolts caused leak, got it home with no big trouble
but some extra noise, about 4 hours to repair at my good Indy.
4) Water pump at 125Km
5) Turbo seal at 75Kmi, replaced turbo on guarantee
6) About $1200 of front suspension work

This may seem to be a lot but I am very happy with this truck, I will
be sad to replace it when the chassis finally falls apart, that day is
coming!
