It applies to all businesses, but the fortune 500 or 1000 or somewhere
in there aren't bothered as much as they can own armies of lawyers and
buy their own pols. But every business is constantly harassed. Try
making something simple like a dog treat. You will be smothered by
federal 3 letter agencies, 4 letter agencies, state agencies, local
yokels and probably others too. Each demands fees, and compliance with
regulations that often counter each other. Then there are the industry
agencies, and compliances that you need to do for cred in the industry
and to get customers....
IF you can survive all that, then you need to travel to Industry
expositions, and conventions, and pay the rapacious rates demanded by
the sponsors, hotels, restaurants, taxi etc.

I can tell you for certain that applies to small-business truckers,
particularly to single-truck Owner-Operators.
