2012 Pro, 3.2 quad Xeon, 16GB memory, coupla 1 TB drives inside (one I run from, one for Time Machine) and an external 2TB, also for Time Machine. Works fine. My mobile is a 2010 MBP 3,1 (I think) which I wipe and mirror from my Pro every so often. Running High Sierra on both, null sheen.
