Will it be something very similar to the back up sensors in the bumper that beep faster as my truck gets closer to an object?

I say microwave (radar) because I used to work with automatic door controls

space and providing fairly accurate feedback on their position and movement.

This is in lieu of the big rubber mats, of course. Those things were stupid
expensive and failed with some frequency.

Theres lots of ways you could do it but as Dan suggests its probably some kind
of radar...
I feel like the lights to tell people when a car is next to them is just
protecting the idiots and allowing them to be lousy drivers.

Or Dan or whoever. How does the side collision prevention feature found on some
(most?) modern cars work? Sometimes when I pass cars I can see the amber
indicator on the outside mirror light up.
