To stress the importance of proper coolant, I have seen a number of cylinder heads with holes eaten into the deck surface requiring expensive deck welding repair by the machinist. The V8s are prone to this as are the older inline sixes. (m130, m108, m110, etc) This is caused by a poor coolant servicing regimen, if any at all!

Change your coolant regularly folks. Do not let this happen to you.
