I miss being close to the docks when I lived on L.I.N.Y. I used to get fresh bluefish and smoke 'em. We would get little tuna (footballs) and squid real cheap. One of the neighbor's kids brought by a beautiful striper he had just caught in the surf because he and his family didn't like fish :-). My boy will be closing on his new house in Astoria soon, I will have to investigate the sources there. Albacore tuna for sure, crabs in season. Not that I plan to give up meat, but add variety.
