why would it be different for a DI engine?

I've heard that using ether can cause damage to the prechambers because it's more detination they can handle. The injection to each cylinder is metered, but with the ether, it's not. I think a HUGE part to my starting problems with this engine is the leaky primer pump which is now on its way.
