I was working on a 2005 Focus with the 2.? Eco something engine. The alternator was wedged between the engine and the firewall. I had to unbolt the motor mount and pry the engine over to get it out. Might have had to remove some other stuff in the too. It was a while ago. I've given up trying to leave things in place and "work around it". If it's in the way, it's outta here.

But I might try it, if nothing else I might get a better angle to grab onto the thing.
