Started in on the new E320 last night. Got the car vacuumed out and washed. Polished the headlights. Been cleaning carpets between meetings today. Later on I’ll start in on the hard surfaces in the interior and get the exterior clay’ed, polished and waxed. I need to pull a spark plug to see if it needs plugs, and order a crank position sensor to proactively replace the one that’s on the car.
Only thing I’ve discovered so far is that the front passenger seat adjustment seems wonky. Push the bottom cushion button back and the seat goes forward. Push it forward and it goes nowhere. Hit the memory buttons and it moves all different directions, meaning the motors are good. I may remove the buttons and spray some contact cleaner into the switch and see if that helps. Tomorrow I’ll take it out for a drive to pick up some fluids and then change fluids in the differentials and hopefully the transfer case. If my first dealer parts order comes in I’ll grab it and get some OE ATF for the transfer case, as it has probably never been changed. I’ll drain and refill the power steering as well. I need to figure out what sort of paint was used to paint the rockers, as the paint on them seems to be wearing off as I can see little bits of body color coming through. It’s not the rock guard stuff, just paint. If anyone knows what’s used let me know - it’s probably a Würth product of some sort. Next week, new tires and new OE carpeted floor mats. It will go into daily driver service at that time to qualify it for travel to Indiana in early December. -D _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
