I checked reviews on those 2 units linked below, the Whirlpool got some
bad reviews but the Maytag reviews were all pretty good whatever that
might mean.
Costco have a deal where if you get their credit card and pay with that
you get another 2yr (4 total) warranty coverage and another 2% cash
back. I'm not a CC fan but that might be worth it to get it, pay off
the CC, then stick it in a drawer. That would give me $30 off total
then the extra 2 years is good. I can buy online and get it delivered
next Wed, they haul off the old one, do the hookup, etc. so that's a
good deal, pretty much turnkey.
And yeah that is about the least expensive they have for the larger
(mid!) size so I guess that is what you have to buy.
I see Fred's comment that they are both made by Whirlpool, I guess that
is why they look similar, probably have the same guts. hmmmm

We’re shopping appliances for the new house, and all I can say is there seems
to be nothing in the way of basic, plain Jane sort of appliances any more. I
figured we could find an inexpensive washer and dryer and like you, I was
stunned when I walked through Lowe’s the other day and didn’t see a washer for
under $700.
When we head up north I’m going to check out what used to be Sears Outlet. You
could get some good deals on closeouts and scratch and dent stuff there.
They’ve been bought out by a company called “American Freight” apparently, but
they’re still doing the same thing. There are four stores around Indy.
I als plan on going to some independent appliance stores, too. I think the big
box retailers fix prices or simply don’t carry a wide range of stuff for a
reason. The independent appliance stores might be a little more expensive but
I”m guessing they have access to a much wider range of models and prices.

I think my 20+yo Kenmore washer is getting on it's last legs. It still washes
but things are just getting worn out, kind of a slow death I guess. Was
looking at new top loaders, they seem to be a lot bigger these days. The real
big ones 5+ ft3 are pretty spendy, even the smaller ones are kinda up there
these days.
On Costco I see these 2, similar at Lowes cost more (I have not gone to the
store to check them out), largish I guess but not the largest. Both the same
price $720 I will get some rebate on them at end of year. The 5+ are about
$200 more, too much I think

They look similar, no wifi or bluetooths or whatever, about the least expensive
they have. I wonder if they are made the same and branded differently? Any
thoughts? They deliver and haul away the old one for free
