Friend of mine, just turned 81 this week, had two nonnegotiable requirements when he bought his new 2013 car. It had to have integrated backup camera and satnav. Those options came with bluetooth, and after using that, he has 3 requirements. But he's not app-savvy, and really doesn't care about higher level phone connectivity as long as he can hit a button on the steering wheel and answer a phone call. In fact, he does not want to have to use the phone to run his maps, he wants the maps to be freestanding.

Is bluetooth all Andrew's GF needs, or does the car have to have a screen that can be linked to the phone with Car Play so she can look at her giant dashboard phone instead of the road?

Mitch.

I can’t imagine defining a car to buy by the telematics.
