I went over yesterday in the $720ML500 (Benz Content!) to drop off some recycling and a bag of trash at the Kiawah Island Community Association place, they have a big recycle bin and a small dumpster there that is about a 6ft cube with a door on the side to put trash in.  I opened it to put my bag of trash in it and there was a box sitting right there, looked new,  a Sony stereo receiver.  I opened it up and it looked like it had never been used, the remote was still in a plastic bag, the unit had been taken out of a foam sleeve but the cord was still wrapped with a wire tie.  I threw it in the ML500 (Benz Content!) and brought it home.  I have not hooked it up to speakers yet, I have some of those I got for nothing from a garage sale.  I need to buy one of those little bluetooth dongles and can use it for a streaming system, play music off the internets or my phone or iPad.

I can't believe someone just chucked it in a dumpster.  It's probably like a $150 unit, so not a high-end thing, but still...
