Folks, So the 2004 Dodge Benz Sprinter space hauler has been sitting for about two months With the windshield removed while I address the unsealed windshield and the associated Pennsylvania rust. Battery was dead .... so I charged it. I started it just now and I heard a screech and saw some smoking under the hood ... I figured some idler was noisy .... WRONG. The serpentine belt was tossed off. On checking I see the alternator is frozen solid. Can’t even move it with a pipe wrench on the sort of hub back of the grooved pulley. Ideas? Odd that the bearings would seize on sitting in the delicious salt air for two months
