Mine isn’t “smart” in that it’s an IOT device, no. It does have a socket for 
some sort of module for a utility to “talk” to it to make it shut off or turn 
it down, however. I never investigated those functions as my utility doesn’t 
offer them. Maybe if one got one of the modules you could do that, I don’t know.

Mine does have “vacation” settings that you can do though the front panel. It 
will also come out of certain settings after a predetermined time as well, but 
I don’t recall the details. I would have to go back and read through the 
documentation.
