He’s safe with any E320 or potentially E350 up to 2005. There is a variant that’s an E350 used in the MLs and possibly other models that is the M112, which can be verified through the engine number using the VIN. Avoid any E350 branded model from 2006-2008.
I have had several, with two still in the fleet - 1998 E320 wagon with 210k on the clock, 2002 E320 sedan with about 130k on the clock. Both have been "top off and drive" cars for the most part.
