I wish the old ones didn't rust so readily, I really liked my '98, it was tinny and un-refined but a lot of fun to drive.
The 2015 is a pleasant if somewhat boring ride. It sure does zip though, there is nothing like the torque of driving a diesel. I've started to bench-race the idea of putting an early TDI engine into a CJ5 to keep at camp. An early AHU or ALH engine and a stage 3 tune with upgraded injectors. Should do around 130hp 230 torques, good for a small, light jeep on 33" tires. Ought to do 25mpg at that. Ahh but only money, time and effort get in the way... -Curt On Thursday, March 10, 2022, 11:58:06 AM EST, Randy Bennell via Mercedes <mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: I think I need a diesel Jetta!
