Ralph, There is a company in Nevada that is considered the expert and go-to place to get rebuilt steering boxes for Mercedes called C&M Hydraulics. Your mechanic should be able to purchase from them, they don’t sell to the end user/general public. Their rebuilt steering boxes aren’t cheap, but they have a very good reputation and stand behind their products.
http://candmhydraulics.com/index.html I spent some time speaking with them a few year back when I was dealing with some issues on a W140 with an odd steering issue and they were very helpful and ultimately identified the problem as being a control issue and not the steering box. -D > On Apr 13, 2022, at 5:48 AM, Ralph Robertson via Mercedes > <mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: > > My steering became stiff and would try to lock up when turning.
