Same with 617 turbo. The steering linkage gets in the way of getting the starter out from below. Air cleaner has to come off. I don't remember if the battery tray has to be removed. With a 616, it's pretty easy. I think the top starter bolt is removed from above too.
So put it on the lift, remove bottom bolt etc, then put it down and do the rest?
