Okay, we all know the mystic qualities of M1 5w40 oil. Is Rotella T Synthetic (Blue Jug) 5w40 as good? Seems quite a few Goldwing owners recommend it.

Lots of people LOVE it. It's cheap! It's also hydrocracked group III oil, far inferior to the group IV/V that Mobil and Amsoil sell. It's superior to the group II oils like Delo 400. It isn't nearly as good as M-1/D-1 for cold weather starting and it will NOT last nearly as long, but it lubricates pretty well.

DOESN'T meet any of the Mercedes standard sheet specs!! Maybe Shell didn't submit it for testing, BUT their conventional group I Rotella and their synthetic Helix oils were submitted and approved for various service!
