Once he had it where he could actually inspect the car it was obvious there was a catastrophic failure to deal with. I'm interested in the true cause the rod failed. Oil system in the Mercedes engines is pretty robust, and although the residual oil was black, it wasn't more than what could be called "normal for diesel service". So, what actually failed that lost the rod, which lost the block etc etc etc...
