The locking pin is nothing more than a fine threaded bolt where the end of the bolt is ground to a point. Of course for me finding the fine threaded metric bolt had always been the problem.
When I put a new/used/rebuilt steering box on car I always get someone to hold steering wheel straight. Then I will remove screw on steering box, then use a pick to make sure steering box is centered then connect the steering column to box. Thus the pick does not lock the steering box, but it will tell me if it is at center point. It usually takes 2-3 tries but I eventually get I correct. What about the locking pin for the steering box? Curt Raymond wrote: > I'm as frugal as the next guy but for $200 I'd buy one. I can't see them wanting to muck with something I'd invented. I also can't see my wanting to pay for that. > > -Curt > > Date: Thu, 15 Jun 2006 19:50:56 -0400 > From: "Constantine N.
